Established on November 6, 1984
| August 1984 | Approved by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education |
| January 1988 | Approved by the Ministry of Justice’s Immigration Bureau as an Application Agent Approved as a school that operates with four semesters a year, Approved as a member of the Japan Immigration Association, an incorporated foundation |
| 1991 | Formed an academic partnership with the University of California and established a training course |
| 1992 | The translation and interpretation department of the Netherlands National University began to accept credits given by Edo Cultural Center |
| 1994 | ・Formed an academic partnership with the University of California’s San Diego Graduates School’s International Relations and Pacific Studies. ・Edo Cultural Center began to produce its own original textbooks and teaching materials ・The Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs designated the Center as its official Japanese language school. |
| 1995 | Formed an academic partnership with the Foreign Languages Institute at Korean Foreign Languages University, a prominent university in South Korea, and established a Korean language course. |
| 1996-7 | Established a business-training program specifically designed for the Korean National Housing Corporation |
| 1997 | The number of trainees from Asian countries studying Japanese language in Japan reaches 12,000 (as of year 2000) |
| 1998 | The first winter special short term course for Taiwan’s Min Tai Senior High School (held every year since) |
| 1999 | Summer special short term course for the Boys Mission from Dalian, China |
| 2000 | Summer special short term course for European countries; |
| 2001 | Lecture on American National Standards host. Professors of Princeton University, University of California San Diego and others participated |
| 2002 | Teacher training program for AATJ (Alliance of Association of Teachers of Japanese), US Department of Education; |
| 2003 | Japanese teacher training course started at Edo Cultural Center |
| 2004 | ・Consigned by the ILO Association of Japan, Inc., Edo Cultural Center conducts Japanese language training for foreign trainees coming from developing countries for International Technical Cooperation Programs ・Established Non Profit Organization TABUNKA Support Center |

| 2008 | Korean Learning course based on the curriculum by Korean University |
